Pretty frustrating to hear that universally, independent authors can't make ends meet with them. On top of it taking 3 weeks to get your book after you've ordered it to be printed, it seems like the perfect niche for a competitor to open shop.

Why would Ingram create a program that doesn't move the product they're offering?
Before I knew this was intentional, I opened a help ticket with them (2 weeks ago) that they never responded to. IngramSpark literally has one job and they are a monopoly at it, but they ARE NOT functional at it.

I thought I was giving booksellers 40% and 45% which is the maximum I can do with printing costs. Turns out they're only getting 20% and 25% through Ingram and so, of course won't purchase my books. It took a buyer at an indie bookstore to tell me this.

Having read your posts about advice to comic artists about skeleton suits, this post made me cackle so loud! 🤣🤣🤣

(Same at Amazon but you should buy it from Third Place or your local indie bookstore)

TPB is our largest indie bookseller in Washington State and so many hours were spent studying there in the community space back in grad school. This is one of those incredibly proud moments in my early self-pub career. Doggone it, nice job, self!
