#Cloudflare: generally a great service for owners of small, hobbyist sites. But today is a great reminder that having a handful of very large service providers goes against the grain of an *inter*-network of autonomous systems

Nice piece today in the Washington Post by Jennifer Hassan who explores the power of sharing images of people w/ diseases like Parkinson's and also the power of using images of modern therapies. The example she wrote about was a woman playing the clarinet during awake DBS.

Do we need a plan to end the Parkinson Pandemic? Spoiler alert: We were all worried by estimates of Parkinson revealing 12 million cases by 2035, however we are already at 12 million cases today.

Couple of thoughts on today's election in the Netherlands:

1/2 The huge number of parties isn't a story of Dutch eccentricity, but of hyper-fragmented politics in most European countries. The only difference is that the Dutch electoral system exposes that fragmentation where others conceal it.
Netherlands, Ipsos-I&O poll:

D66-RE: 15% (+1)
GL/PvdA-G/EFA|S&D: 15%
PVV-PfE: 15% (-2)
CDA-EPP: 13%
VVD-RE: 11% (+1)
JA21~ECR: 7% (-1)
FvD-ESN: 4%
BBB-EPP: 3%
SP-LEFT: 3%
PvdD-LEFT: 3%
...

+/- vs. 23-24 October 2025
