J'Roc: Boys we need to get some Warp energies in here yknowwhatI'msaying?
Bubbles: I dunno J'Roc... last time we called on the Warp Ricky got possessed by a real mean bastard.
Ricky: I'm fine, Bubbles. I mean sometimes I still hear the cries of the damned and all that but hash quiets them down
Ricky: Yeah so Inquisitor Lahey was all up in our faces saying we were involved in heresay or something
Bubbles: Ricky, it's heresy! And he's coming back to purge the whole hab block! What are we gonna do?
Julian: Just let me think. Ok, we need firepower. Ricky, start the ritual to summon J'Roc

Julian: You can't be stupid with the forces of chaos like that, Ricky.

Ricky: Don't worry, I'm not gonna do another horses heresy

I'm guessing after the Horus Heresy they're gonna do material for The Scouring. The problem is it feels like this is already getting covered by ADB's Black Legion books and the War of The Beast (highly recommend) was already done.

Following up who's your favorite Horus Heresy character?

This is super easy for me: Argel Tal.
Who's your favorite character in the 40k setting?

I had to actually think pretty hard about this and I think I'm gonna go with Khayon the Black.

I like the Siege of Terra series but also have a strange sense of melancholy about it. I feel like the curtain's been pulled back as far as it's gonna go and there aren't any mysteries left. I NEVER thought GW/BL would identify Cypher.

It's neat but having some mystery is great too.

This was from a Jackbox game I played with some friends on New Year's Eve 2021.

I have never felt more seen or understood by my friends.

The War of Vengeance trilogy from WHFB is no joke one of the best anti-war series of books I've ever read. They're incredibly gripping but also have a way of filling you with dread as the Asur and Dawi continue to escalate in brutality against each other.

The Night Lords books were a big turning point for me in appreciation of 40k novels. The characters portrayed seemed to capture the whole brotherhood theme of Astartes ironically better than most of the loyalist books to that point. It's a tough needle to thread and ADB pulls it off.

Second: what's your favorite Horus Heresy novel and why?

Gonna throw a couple of prompts out here to get this squig moving.

First: what's your favorite 40k novel and why?

I'm probably gonna aim for what I did last time and just post now and again to spark up discussion about the books and lore and what have you.

Starting off with an introductory thread for me: I've been reading Black Library stuff since 2003 with the first book being the Eisenhorn omnibus. At one point I owned almost every novel they put out but sold the physical copies before moving (still have them digitally since I mostly read that way)

I had a similar account on Twitter back in the day so I figured I'd give it another go since the vibes seem better here!
