Fleur Anderson and Simon Hogg want lorries here every morning instead of school kids on scooters, dogs and ebikes. Easy to demand such horrors be visited on us from miles away in Putney, but wild to me that *anyone* local would get behind such a dystopian vision

My concerns about Gary Stevenson’s economics of wealth www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/08...
Gary Stevenson's latest video has made it very clear that his economics is deeply neoliberal in its framing. You cannot build social justice on the basis of inappropriate economic framing, so this matters.
My concerns about Gary Stevenson’s economics of wealth
In a recent video, Gary Stevenson said: “Governments are running out of money, just like a person running down their savings.” Gary Stevenson has become a significant critic of inequality in the UK t...

Today the order banning #PalestineAction as "terrorists" came into effect. But they are not terrorists. They are protesters trying to stop a genocide. This is a "first they came for ..." situation. Unless we stand in solidarity against this assault on our freedom, they will pick us off one by one.

The Clean Air Bill is returning to Parliament! With cross-party support, I will present #EllasLaw in July.

Named for Ella Kissi-Debrah, who died from asthma linked to air pollution, Ella's Law will make breathing clean air a human right. @ellarobertafdn.bsky.social

So much envy
I've just been thinking about these - Bristol has funded changing non-junction lights to green immediately for pedestrians rather than making them wait for cars 1/4 of a mile away (which is what most towns and cities do). Well done to my Bristol Green colleagues like @cllremmaedwards.bsky.social
Also, how satisfying is the pre-timed Max?! getting a green man within a few seconds in order to cross busy Ashley Down Road!

Facing a global downturn & potential economic slump any rumoured “reset” of Labour’s economic strategy must recognise that this is no time to be cutting the benefits to disabled people & the poorest when they will be the hardest hit in any recession. Halt the planned austerity measures.

This is how you can help

@roadcc.bsky.social report on our latest video, which showcases the dangerous junction, and was branded "an 8-minute masterclass on all that is wrong about UK roundabout design" by @rantyhighwayman.bsky.social

“A textbook example of terrible highway design”: Council blasted after “serious downgrade” at popular roundabout leaves cyclists and pedestrians with no safe route to hospital
NHS workers had previously joined cyclists in slamming the changes aimed at encouraging “more and faster” motor traffic, with the council also accused of ignoring its own safety audit

Well done Sheffield for building the UK's second Dutch-style roundabout (after Cambridge).

Hopefully there'll be many more to come!
The ‘Dutch’ roundabout on West Bar had an official opening today

It looks a seamless operation - people are getting how it works and could potentially be quite the success

This is Roompot Gulpen, a holiday park in Limburg, Netherlands.

It's a modern Hobbiton.

It's also quite dense, with 85 dwellings on a small footprint.

The car park is located the bottom, making the whole development human friendly.

It's light years ahead of the housing we build in the U.K.
