Please enjoy one of the sickest pieces of pixel art I've ever seen: "Amiga Lagoon" by Jim Sachs (~1993)

I think part of being happy is the ability to be real, and reality isn't always positive. Gotta be able to say, "Wow, that's some shit." I really dislike when people try to explain overcoming depression as a matter of flooding your brain with good thoughts without addressing the dangers of denial.

@skepchick.org So sorry to pester. Ethan Klein is now up to four lawsuits for "copyright abuse" by his critics. He's added a fourth person after being criticized for going solely after women. Just in case you wanted to produce an update to the story. They all need as much help as possible.

Don't hesitate to take some time to yourself and shut the news off.

#photography Goldfield Hotel! Built in 1907. This hotel is literally for sale. They have a sign out front that says you can buy it if you're interested.

#photography from inside the Goldfield Consolidated Mines Company. The building is from 1905, but the company is from 1906. These unwelcoming stairs sit full of dust.

#photography from Rhyolite, Nevada. The night fell upon us super fast with no one else around.

Guess who's a mess. I had previously written that this house was from Bonnie Springs Ranch, which was torn down. Turns out, I had misremembered. This is actually from Spring Mountain Ranch, which is still available for viewing. parks.nv.gov/parks/spring...

#photography Given that I live in Vegas, here's more Vegas. Specifically, here's a photo of El Cortez. This sign has been here since 1952. The structure it is sitting on has been here since 1941. Not all of his fellow hotels and casinos have stood the test of time.

Relying on copyright as the sole solution will only ensure that those companies who were lucky enough to already own the rights to a large corpus of data (mainly through the fine print in their terms of use), the Adobes, Shutterstocks, and Deviantarts of the world, will come out on top

I think there is far too much of a focus on copyright being a solution that will protect artists, when there's already so much content that falls under copyright to use. As far as I know, there's nothing stopping Disney from turning everything under their name into a dataset.

Adding #nsfw to my mute list has done wonders for hiding sexual content that isn't hidden properly

#photography My wife between two abandoned entrances. These were moved from the stairwells that lead into the historic railroad station that connected Las Vegas through Rhyolite to Goldfield and Tonopah.

#photography of the preying mantis at Container Park. It shoots fire. Didn't stick around long enough for that.

#photography from Goldfield, NV. This ghost town is a beautiful visit for any photographers with an affinity for Nevadan history. The building in this image is Dahlstrom’s Garage, which was built in 1930. It's 96 years old as of this image.

My reaction to the ad was to wince. The consolation was seeing that in a room full of moderates, they were wincing too. For a lot of people, it's obvious that they're reaching and trying to scare with their bullshit. With that said, how it will intensify his base is a valid concern.
They just played one of the most vile anti-Trans, pro-Trump ads I have ever seen during this football game. It was violent and disgusting. The fact that they feel comfortable being this openly hateful is horrific and we must protect trans people at all costs.

Took me a while, but I finally got my mail-in ballot finished and ready to go. I voted to destroy America with my terminal wokeness and to rebuild it with Marxist allure.
