Had a nightmare there were roving Harry Potter promotional larps doing public scenes and trying to rope you in, like, "oh no this poor house elf is being pursued, will you help them hide or give them away?" Kinda like the Star Wars Galactic Cruiser.

I think I want to replace the thermal paste on an old Macbook running Linux. I want to know if I make things better, worse or no change. I can get instantaneous numbers from lm_sensors... but how would I get time series data? Under idle, medium and heavy load? Reproducibly?

I cannot believe how terrible mobile phone providers are. Giffgaff keeps dropping out in my new flat, and I am still waiting for broadband to get installed (first appointment cancelled due to dangerous telephone pole), so I thought I'd try getting a month of pay as you go on an esim.

McGills bus driver pulled up at the chaotic-as-usual stop Slug and Lettuce stop for 2 seconds, hurried me on and told me not to scan my ticket, then closed the door and yelled "too slow" at whoever was behind me. There is nobody on this bus. Am I being kidnapped?

Finished this with my sister. My Poirot lore is weak so most of the references were lost on me but I very much enjoyed the layout and solving experience. Very readable, lots of variety.

Can PDF files phone home? Like, if I download a PDF file and open it in a PDF reader or browser, can it run javascript code and exfiltrate, e.g., information about when I had the document open and which pages I read?

I like the idea of the user serviceability of the Framework laptop but the expansion cards really put me off. They take up so much space and the slots all have confusingly different capabilities. Plus the coloured bezels and expansion cards just don't seem to go with the laptop colours at all.

So... Glasgow has multiple different bus companies and they all have different (bad) payment systems. I use a Tripper ticket because it works across several of them and I can pay for one day ticket. It comes as a QR code on the phone... but First Bus combine their QR code reader with tap-on/tap-off.
