I am a big fan of "bad movie" shows. MST3K, Flop House, WHM, HDTGM, etc., but a few years ago I thought, "why not do the opposite? do a podcast praising hated, bad, or underappreciated movies." so I did.

the guest *always* likes the movie, and I provide historical context for the negativity. 😉
part of a conversation I just had:

so do you miss smoking wee-
Yes.

You don't see a lot of tie-in meals for horror movies.
Hello. Today I ate everything on Popeyes’ Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 Menu. Some of the things I saw and ate will haunt my dreams for years ... so I think that makes it one of the most accurate tie-in menus ever?

The Carpenter's Son? more like The Carpenter's Fun!

nah jk, it's a pretty weird, miserable movie. but I'll watch anything with Cage in it. that's the rule.

Did you know that Al Pacino worked with director on a second film after Glengarry Glen Ross? And that it was written by Joseph Stefano, the writer of Psycho?

classic @thejoedante.bsky.social movie! a comedic take on Fantastic Voyage with a solid cast and some great action.
Watched a movie I really dug and thought I'd find a nice gif set to reblog on tumblr. That movie's InnerSpace, wherein a tiny Dennis Quaid is injected into Martin Short's ass, and, uh, it has an audience!

what if I got the press release 9 seconds earlier than you??
It's not a scoop when it's based on a press release. I know journalistic standards are profoundly broken right now, but that strikes me as a pretty basic one.

it's like watching a conversation between the adjectives stupid and clueless.
Joe Rogan and Theo Von slam DHS for using Von's image in a video promoting deportation:

"I was like, oh my God, what the fuck are they doing? That's not how you envision the government."

"They were making, like, deportation hype videos with trap beats and shit. What are we doing? It's idiocracy."

I got a free turkey from my supermarket for accruing enough "points" so I'm gonna donate it to a local food drive. check to see if you're also owed a free turkey you don't need.

@weinbergs.bsky.social Just listened to your Clifford episode. My family had no idea that Clifford was hated at all! As far as we're concerned, it's a classic! I've always thought it was a natural ancestor to the movie Elf. 🤷‍♂️

I used to minimize the abuse I got when I was young, but I don't do that anymore. My dad used to beat the shit out of me. (With his belt, too.) Why are we conditioned to say it wasn't so bad, when it was?
