I agree with Emily Zola about imagining myself as a book. Few people engage. That's okay. Ave. Time at the Grand Canyon is 20 minutes.

I’ll have a lot more to say on this, but eliminating USAID while a dozen officers were responding to the earthquake in Myanmar is so on brand for this nightmare of an administration.

Grateful for your years of service, Finn – and that the ACA helped you and your daughter get health care.
I was injured in the line of duty working as a sheriffs deputy and needed a spinal surgery. Had to accept a medical retirement at 40 yrs old. Lost my County health insurance for myself and my daughter. But no one would sell me insurance because of the injury. I had no insurance until the ACA.

A set of standards for autonomy is a threat but not a deadly virus?
Them: we call it the woke mind “virus” to communicate how deadly and awful it is and that it must be eradicated.

Also them: enh, measles is FINE.

The Onion summer writing fellowship is seeking applicants! It's six months, good salary and benefits.

This year's applicants do NOT have to complete the Eating Challenge, as it turns out this does not adhere to Illinois labor law. We apologize to those who have died in the past.

We have overcome near-death experiences before.

We shall overcome this one too. Not by denying we are in a constitutional crisis.

We are.

But we can and will prevail if we face the truth unflinchingly and never abandon the long twilight struggle against evil.

Purges are highly unusual. The attempt to obstruct the peaceful transfer of power was highly unusual. The mass pardons of hundreds of violent supporters of the president? Highly unusual.

But not for an authoritarian.

If you want to know how important libraries are, to contextualize this figure, it's 2.5 x more than the number of copies the book sold in the same time period.
THANK YOU to the 626 people who borrowed Ghost Signs from their local library service in print or e-book form for the year 2023/4, netting me nearly seventy five quid. Every little helps! But 600+ library readers is awesome for me, as a librarian, well happy with that.
