On this idea of a rogue, private police force, it's worth stressing that these ICE officers and their commanders are supposed to be public servants but are in no sense operating as if they are serving the public or bound to the law. They are serving Trump first.
That's what's happening. We're a nation at the mercy of our president's rogue private police force..
I hate to break it to you, but heavily-armed government militias are roaming unchecked through US cities and shooting human rights observers dead in the streets. That's happening in our country.

DHS officials are already leaking that there are serious problems with how the ICE officer handled this.

The use of "police" by DHS/ICE agents is a fabrication; an attempt to deceive; demonstrates contempt for the communities they descend on. For they aren't from there, aren't trained as police, aren't working w/local police.
