I'm sorry, man, but #Pluribus is trying my patience. The first 2 episodes are phenomenal but then the last 3 episodes have been treading so much water, despite the drip-drab of "reveals" (if you can even call them that).

My Media Literacy class is watching Network and you have to marvel at how structurally sound it is as a movie and a screenplay. 2 hours long and guess where the "I'm mad as hell" moment occurs? Yep, almost exactly at the 60 minute mark. Man, Lumet and Chayefsky's construction was cathedral-like.

I agree that the assignment was poorly written and ultimately does not require the things the comments from the instructor or TA provide as justifications for their grade. I also agree that the essay was likely written to trigger this precise response from the instructor in order to get them fired.

I believe Israel has committed genocide in Gaza. I believe the West Bank is an illegal occupation. I believe a nation that privileges one group of ppl over another is wrong. But renaming Herzog Park to “Free Palestine” or “Hind Rajab Park” in Dublin is an example of that one friend who is too woke.

This is the kind of shit where you roll your eyes as the instructor because the student clearly had zero interest in engaging w/ the material & just had an axe to grind. And then you also have to extend them far more grace than they deserve because you know they're just waiting to play the victim.
