What is happening in this country? The Department of Homeland Security is reportedly considering a reality show where immigrants compete in challenges for a shot at U.S. citizenship. Officials claim, “This isn’t The Hunger Games for immigrants.”

As a teacher with a second job, I’m having to get a third job or another revenue stream to afford an outpatient procedure to determine if I have lung cancer or just damage/persistent infection. I currently cannot afford the procedure both financially or time-wise. This is America.

It’s a complicated feeling seeing someone who is an abusive, narcissistic manipulator (at least for the time you knew them) being celebrated, & yet not wanting to out things they did b/c so much is not your story to tell. And also working 70+ hours a week so all you have time for is work & sleep.

Really depressing that I’m forcing myself to go to work today and tomorrow even though I feel terrible because I need the money to afford bills and Christmas. I can’t even sing (which the job requires) and I’m still gonna try to force my way through it.

Between working at a public school and teaching at School of Rock, the latter is a FAR more enjoyable job that allows me to show a lot more of my musical knowledge. Fifteen years of professional development and it took twenty minutes to get me to learn a song on guitar and bass.
