FYI this is on Nebula at present and has been for a while. Not like defending some random company matters but we might as well be honest. youtu.be/Pg4zPo6HbpQ?...

I get it. Attacks on other internet people is the internet’s bread and butter. And from what I can tell you aren’t hurting anyone or anything. I just get amused at the fact you think this particular well is the one you need to keep coming back to.

Pssst… usually no one can actually be “cancelled” in the sense of actually losing an internet career suddenly and dramatically. It’s more typical to fade from relevance. Not like it actually matters.

I think the more noteworthy thing regardless of that claim is that you’re still talking about them.

Having seen a production of A Christmas Carol in Glasgow, let me tell you: they know it and embrace it.

I’ve alway thought “actually the goblins were supposed to be Scottish Presbyterians” would be an extremely funny thing for J.K. Rowling to announce.

Though tbh I think we could find other examples for other minorities. Or of even worse things in the media. But it’s just weird.

Side note: I think Constantine is the only instance of the main villain of a theatrically released Muppet movie actually being a Muppet. And he's my favorite Muppet out of ones invented in the last two decades.

I stumbled back into you because you’re one of the only people who responded to Third Way’s ideas by testing them.

That’s what I appreciate about your work. You start with the data, not your ideas about it.

I think Mel Brooks in The Muppet Movie, in spite of his character being nightmare fuel, started the trend of Muppeting it up. Although he's really just acting like an evil version of a typical Mel Brooks character.

I disagree. The film is a good movie, which I plan to watch, but it's an outlier in terms what a #Muppet movie is. A Muppet movie should actually be about Muppets. In fact, I worry that it was this movie's success as a rental that doomed stuff like Muppets Most Wanted, which is underrated.

I don't think you get to do the "what about Sudan???" thing if you yourself don't care about Sudan. The crazy thing is that British FM (now Deputy PM) Lammy did this!! And the UK literally arms the UAE.

If this was with any other minority, two people who aren’t part of the group talking to each other with no member of the actual group in sight and making it about celebrities that also aren’t part of the group would immediately be considered very weird.

I feel like that's a sign they're losing control of the narrative perhaps? That they have to focus on denouncing others' plans as scams rather than hyping their own? I'd want more context.

Is it more often in the context of US citizenship or of Israel?

These are actual statistics on all that. People have used these words but often in completely different contexts. dcinboxinsights.substack.com/p/was-it-som...
