Friendly neighbours

Digital art of original characters Aran and Tao as kids dresses up for Halloween. It’s a New York neighborhood with small old houses, a bit worn down and askew, it’s early evening and the sun is setting painting the sky in orange. Aran is dressed as Batman, in a diy costume, and Tao as a ninja turtle (diy costume). Tao is about to ring the doorbell of an old house, while Aran stopped at the side way and is letting a black cat. The house they stopped on is old and a bit worn down, with two carved out pumpkins glowing in the front yard and on the steps.
From the house window a ghost woman, glowing in green, is looking at Tao as he rings the bell. And a ghost cat glowing in green, is sitting on the ac in front of the window and looks down at Aran petting the living cat.
The street is otherwise empty and it’s a bit of a nostalgic and melancholic scene but also warm.

It also let's a person zoom in to make text bigger if they have residual vision. I don't think the account meant to imply all deafblind people use braille bc they don't. It's a very diverse group and a spectrum of sensory loss.

A transcript is the only way to make video or audio content accessible to someone who is both deaf and blind. Transcripts can be converted into braille, to be read on a refreshable braille output device.

So we have all but been approved, we're just waiting on the Property Manager to come back from vacation for final approval. We're going to be in the packing and moving stage very, very soon. Any donations are going to that now!

Canada Post “lost” 1 billion dollars last year?

How about, “it cost Canadians 1 billion dollars to have a national postal service” which works out to costing about $25 a year per person (population of Canada in 2024 = 40 million). Seems like a pretty reasonable cost to me.

"Canada Post is on track to lose money" Hum. Duh. It cost less than a toonie to send a letter across Canada.

"Canada Post is a service and not a business" was common knowledge until late stage capitalism brain rotted most people into think if it ain't making money for shareholders, it's failing.

If you’re like most Canadians, you don’t know that all of your parcels get delivered by Canada Post if you live in rural Canada. The big couriers don’t go there. They drop them off at the post office and letter carriers take them the rest of the way. Ending home delivery cuts them off.
