Yes, he should’ve had enough sense to step away from a car if he was worried about being hit by one again. Instead he stepped TOWARDS her vehicle and shot her 3 times.

My first reaction to that bit of information was ‘then WTF was he doing standing in front of the car’, not to mention it took a fraction of the effort to take one step sideways than it did to pull out his gun and start firing. AND reaching into a window to grab someone is a great way to induce panic
