The one staggeringly profound thing that the New Deal accomplished was stabilizing old age and giving most Americans a higher quality end of life than the market could provide. It is ending now (ironically by the party most old people support).
The former head of the Social Security Administration says he expects the agency to miss on some payments over the next three months, interrupting some people's benefits, for the first time in Social Security's history of eight decades: www.cnbc.com/2025/03/01/d...

In the past 24 hours, my fbook account is suddenly inundated with pro-musk content. Has this happened to any of you?

USAID received a stop order. EPA is paralyzed. CDC can't report transparently and is castrated of historical information. There is an Ebola outbreak in Uganda. Other diseases will follow. There will be tragic ends to these means that no money can prevent. Viruses don't care how much $$$ you have.

1. Create Bluesky bots to ping and repost information from government accounts.
2. Aggregate those bots into a starter pack.
3. Create a more useful collection of government information without rewarding Musk.
There it is. NTSB only sending info out via X now. Expect the same from CDC FDA etc. soon.

For real.... usaid.gov is down? The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is the United States’ government agency that leads international development and humanitarian assistance efforts to partner countries. Many will die from these actions.

The EPA, like so many agencies, has been thrown into chaos. Scott Mason, a baby within the ranks of EPA leadership is lost and overwhelmed. Somebody please give him a warm glass of milk, a blankie, and a hug. Remind him to do the right thing. The superfund sites are at risk. We are at risk.

Really.... part of the rationale was to provide cheaper energy and protect marine life? Why can't they see the impact burning fossil fuels has on marine life and the long-term associated costs to society? Myopic.

What would happen if a pillar of support was removed from the forces who have power? The current regime's power can only exist with compliant subjects. If all flight attendants or national park employees or utility grid workers went on strike, wouldn't some power would be returned to the people?

I tried this today. Super tasty with spicy harissa, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Just be sure your chick peas have a dry surface before tossing in the oil and spices to get a crispier finish. www.skinnytaste.com/air-fryer-ch...

Science amazes me. Sometimes simple processes such as scotch tape on a bit of graphite will yield amazing materials. Looking forward to seeing what industries do with graphene.
