If he’d been around in the 1980s, he would have been working against Berkeley and SF rent control, the two things that made those cities most “affordable for everyone” (as his org claims to seek), along with similarly centrist CA Dems, the ones working to wreck rent control at state level.

Gets to the core of the problem:
- Most elected Dems STILL don’t understand the importance of using their platforms to drive a narrative.
- Dem consultants don’t know when you should or shouldn’t use a scandal in their ads.
- The latter never pay a price for their incompetence.

Similarly, NWSL fans get excited by the increasing valuations of teams, as if it’s a measure of increasing popularity. (Seems like a proxy of that at best.) But when an owner has to pay all the other owners $165M to get in the door, it means the fans will pay for that on one fee or another.
