Counterargument: the United States is regressing into a white supremacist theocracy because establishment Dems are about as good at winning friends and influencing people as...well...a spiked doormat
Owning the Shitlibs is a community sport for far leftists, real world consequences like the United States regressing into a white supremacist theocracy beholden to Putin be damned because we don't feel any of the pain ourselves.

That's an excellent point - if we hadn't moved the dial, Greene wouldn't feel a need to chase it.
What Greene wants is to be president and she is lying now, like she was lying before, to position herself to do so.

We should be patting ourselves on the back, not her.

#NoKings —all of us—created the political conditions where craven liars feel like they can benefit from taking this stance.
BASH: We have seen these attacks from the president at other people. It's not new. And I haven't heard you speak out about it until it was directed at you.

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: I think that's fair criticism. And I would like to say, humbly, I'm sorry for taking part in the toxic politics.

Great thread for understanding wealth statistics: If wealth were distance, which I think is how the wealthy hope it works.
Part of this week’s newsletter was inspired by the post below. Was there a way to show the distance between normal Americans and the super wealthy?

Gets to the core of the problem:
- Most elected Dems STILL don’t understand the importance of using their platforms to drive a narrative.
- Dem consultants don’t know when you should or shouldn’t use a scandal in their ads.
- The latter never pay a price for their incompetence.

Every case i see for “mls growth” prioritizes wealth at the expense of fans. Bigger franchises fees, more money, more subscriptions, more private equity.
Nothing involved with growing the game apparently involves actual fans who make the game unique.

Counterintuitive: the DFL is run by people who have no idea what it's like to live in an urban area.
Turned away from the MN DFL event due to a bag policy that didn’t appear anywhere in the invitation.

The suggestion was to put my bag in my car. I took the bus

I’m curious how many people were turned away due to other bags (bike bags, groceries, diaper bags) and didn’t have storage options

I’ve said it a million times, the courage and virtue needed to stand up and say “no, this is wrong” is found all but exclusively among ordinary people like us. It’s far from ideal, but it might be enough.
In Chicago, the courage of good, everyday folks getting in the face of ICE/BP and fighting back is restoring my faith in America

In DC, the cowardice of Senate Democrats has undermined it, again

I'm mad about the shut down and worried about healthcare, but not letting people starve is a pretty good reason to cave on this bureaucratic fight, the more I think about it. So just say that: Republicans wanted you to starve rather than compromise, so we let this one go.

It’s not at the top of my list, but we need to reform the pardon power.
"But the true message—the prospective message—is that pardons will be available to everyone who joins him in election subversion in 2026 and 2028. This wave of preemptive pardons is a permission slip, an encouragement for election subversion in the future."

Pardon the Corruption
Trump’s blanket pardons for stop-the-steal illegality aren’t only about settling scores from past elections. They’re about laying the groundwork to subvert future ones.
