Inclusive. Adult. Artist. I have an affinity for childish whimsy and overcast weekdays. Don't be a fucking asshole. Is a better world possible? What do you want to see in it? I love you.

Your feelings do go somewhere. The pain can be converted. Process process process. It's going to be okay.

shout out to all the clients who, in the face of AI nonsense, actively seek out artists because supporting artists and trusting them with your visions and characters is an important part of the process.

Real af.
The big flex you can have as an artist is to just bust out a sketch in person, on the spot. No references or aid, only the stuff you have in your head + muscle memory. In my ex, folks are most impressed by the speed + confidence in which you know your shit. Impossible to farm that aura with AI.

If you're not trans, I don't think I can fully explain how important this is.

It's so powerful that one of the most circulated science media publications in the world has come out and said "trans children are real and providing transition care improves their lives." That's groundbreaking.
The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

We see y'all. No matter what.

First-of-a-kind study shows encouraging data for trans kids who socially transition
Ninety-four percent of participants in a new study stood firm in their trans identity after five years, and "detransitioning" is rare.

Guess I'm not done. This feeling of depression/trauma and it's connection to art informs if I share what I make with the world. Call it scrupolulosity or perfectionism or something else, but throughout the creative process there is often a "burden" I have to push through. Many times I fail. It's OK.
Adding onto this, it makes sense why the act of beginning or finishing a project can even feel a bit painful, when you only recall making your best work when there's a veil of trauma leading the way. Again, I'm speaking largely from my own experience and other artist's anecdotes.
Something about my #depression always married me to my art. The headspace where I create is extremely liminal. I associate this largely with the low dopamine functionality of my ADHD brain, but I'm no expert.

First complete assembly! Everything looks good to me. So very satisfying—that’s fifteen pieces of cast metal, plus fasteners, in a very tiny space! Now more polishing on the wings, then patination and final polish 😅🛠️ but look: here’s our proud planthopper gent!
