I'm assisting with sample gathering tomorrow for microplastics at my city's local drinking-water reservoir and, ngl, I'm terrified at what the results might show. I'll share the findings once they're published this spring...
Most plastic + chemicals added to plastic are made from gas + oil. In 2018, writes @bethgardiner.bsky.social , Saudi Aramco announced plans to drive growth in demand for oil by increasing plastic production.
