Son: Are we better off now?

Dad: Well son, mom & dad have both lost their jobs. Our savings are gone, gas & grocery prices are up. We did, however, save you from drag queen story time.

Son: What's that?

Dad: A mythical thing they said was happening in your school, which we can't afford anymore.

Its not the right of America to tell people in other countries to relocate. Gazans deserve to live in peace. If they choose to remain in Gaza, as i suspect will be the case, they will need help rebuilding.

Good Morning! Start your day with a bit of hope

“Being truthful about the state of our nation and world does not equal losing hope. Hope sees truth and still believes in better. That which dismisses or does not seek truth, but grins, saying 'It will be okay,' is naivete, not hope.”

Sharing hope and wonder can be as contagious as spreading hate and fear.

A reminder that we can be mindful in how we want to move and interact with the world.

Fred Rogers sharing his mother’s wisdom. It’s easy to feed into our fear and lash out in anger about the state of the world, but remember, there are people out there who are willing to help, despite their fear. Having hope is a powerful tool, and a powerful way to live.

It is a relief to know that our ancestors were worriers — awake in the darkness with crowded minds. Their worry is why we’re here.
Word of the Day is ‘uhtcearu’ [ucht-kay-aru, with the 'ch' as in the Scottish ‘loch']:

Old English for ‘the sorrow before dawn', when you lie awake in the darkness and worries crowd your mind.

Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
