Here's who has come out against the Netflix/Warner Bros. deal:
-Writers Guild
-Directors Guild
-SAG-AFTRA
-documentary filmmakers
-theater owners
So all of Hollywood.
They aren't opposing this because they secretly want a Paramount merger, it's because the deal will harm their livelihoods.

Kudos for these women for standing up and doing the right thing but they're trying to ban trans women from e-sports now? Absolutely ridiculous.

hi would you like for one of the world's largest collections of cinematic works to be owned by people who hate movie theaters, people who murder journalists, or the spoiled son of an ultrabillionaire?

fining used to be a deterrent.....for billionaires a tiny fine of 140 million is chump change....in fact it's priced into doing shitty things.....make companies feel the wrongs they do.
the EU has fined X (Twitter) $140 million over "deceptive" blue checkmarks. "Deceiving users with blue checkmarks, obscuring information on ads and shutting out researchers have no place online in the EU," says the bloc’s tech chief www.theverge.com/news/645154/...

I don’t want to use a single year as an example of a trend, but I will say 2025 was a year where international features far outran Hollywood. It Was Just an Accident, Sentimental Value, No Other Choice, Resurrection, and more showed how more voices are getting their work seen and appreciated.
