"A good year for Kenyas" is the green coffee buyer consensus this year. We wholeheartedly agree and have said yes to many this season.

Our latest from the Karumandi washing station is among our favorites. Roasting this week. Don't miss it! ☕

If your coffee habit was anything like mine, this would mean your car would be excessively clean and your water-use footprint borderline criminal.

Car wash/drive-thru coffee bar concept. Place your order in the front of the queue, pull into the disco-lights wash tunnel (tuning into the lower-power fm radio soundtrack, of course). Drinks ready when you exit the tunnel.

It's not a tangy coffee, it's a "Tang"-y coffee.

tasting a coffee where the dominant flavor note is 100% "Tang", but not sure anyone younger than GenX would get the reference. ☕

shameless self promotion time again (though tbh I do feel considerable shame anyway).

This week's single origin drop is a really nice example from small grower Manuel Domingo's farm Las Flores.

Tootsie Roll chocolate with notes of persimmon, rose water, almond butter, grape.

You give us money and a mailing address and we'll give you the beans. www.yesplz.coffee/product/sing...

In my personal coffee cosmology, washed coffees from Huehuetenango, Guatemala represent the center of a Venn diagram of coffee lover's overlapping tastes.

They are like the glazed doughnuts or chocolate chip cookies of coffee.

If you don't like them, you probably don't like coffee...

that's not a bad idea... I think you're on to something.

I wish I was better at self promotion because last week’s Kenya Chesiro peaberry was so good (we’ll roast a batch again soon) and this week’s washed Chelchelle Yirgachefe Ethiopia will be similarly mindblowing.

Anyway, we have a website and we mail beans and they are very good. ☕️

For 12 months, America had a limited proof of concept for universal healthcare, and it was so uniformly successful we had no choice but to obliterate our society

I keep thinking about how the COVID vaccine was rolled out for free for all Americans in 2021 by the federal & state governments with support from local health departments & universities. Since, we have seen the privatization of delivery thru commercial pharmacies & the need for insurance coverage.

NEWS: CVS, the largest pharmacy chain in the country, is currently not offering Covid vaccines in 16 states and DC — even to people who meet the new FDA criteria — because the CDC hasn't signed off and isn't expected to do so (if it does so) for at least three weeks.

First full day in Bogota. Tasted so many extraordinary coffees in today’s cuppings that I can now vibrate my corporeal form through concrete walls.

Up early. Drinking a sample roast of an insanely delicious Guatemala that will arrive soon. Rose water, persimmon, almond.

Headed to the airport to grab a flight to Colombia to see some farms and cup a lot of coffees!

@michaelburns.bsky.social was right about @yesplzcoffee.bsky.social.

Just brewed some Aricha Cherab and it's delicious! So rare to find a coffee company that can preserve the more subtle flavors of the beans.

Very much feeling the Ethiopias we have on deck in the coming weeks (and a couple Kenyas arriving soon). ☕

Break your doomscroll with a little retail therapy:

Reserve a bag from our next single origin drop — the Aricha Cherab from Yirgachefe, Ethiopia. A vibrant washed gem with an aroma that'll transport you to the other side of the planet.
