Trump again just implied that the MMR vaccine causes autism.

Many studies have shown that there is no relationship between MMR vaccine and the development of autism.

This one followed every single child born in Denmark from 1991 through 1998 (n=537,303). There was no association.

Dr. Quiroz also shared the finding of a PSEN1 carrier who did not develop mild cognitive impairment until after her 70s and had minimal tau pathology and neurodegeneration.

She was found to have the rare protective ApoE3 Christchurch allele.

Brain imaging shows limited tau pathology and neurodegeneration despite high amyloid-β plaque burden in an individual homozygous for APOE3ch.

In addition, using religious coping strategies (prayer, attending religious services) was associated with lower entorhinal cortex tau and better memory in cognitively unimpaired PSEN1 carriers in this Colombian sample.

Associations between religious stress coping, cognitive performance, and Alzheimer's disease-related pathology. Greater religious stress coping was associated with lower entorhinal tau in carriers only.

Dr. Quiroz and colleagues have found that, in carriers of the PSEN1 autosomal dominant mutation, lower hippocampal volumes were associated with greater depressive symptoms - suggesting a potential intervention. Could treating depression alter dementia course?
