Getting back into #fpv #drones after a few years hiatus (been flying consumer drones, just nothing acro).

This is my latest 5" build w/ walksnail moonlight camera.

The frame has been on my bench for a year but it's finally built and ready for a test flight.

I’m grinding through some really dull training today and scrolling down memory lane during breaks. Here’s a pic of a plane I later flew… In 1962 this JAL flight landed short of the airport in SF Bay. Everyone survived! I later served as flight engineer on this same plane for a cargo carrier.

Essential, and racking up hours? Yes.

Getting money for their efforts? No.

There's no authorization to spend money to pay employees and the people who would process payroll aren't essential.

This is a lie.

Also, controllers aren't being paid *anything* right now.

As controllers call in sick due to shutdown they want you not to feel sorry for them. It's bullshit.

The Moon is only 75% or so, but the air is so damn clear that it's lighting up the ground like crazy (yay fall cold fronts).

I took the dog for a walk on trails in this state park with my headlamp off, didn't need it at all.

And the Second Line into the audience, around the stands and up to the balcony singing saints go marching in was 1000% New Orleans nostalgia

We got back to camp pretty late (we're in Oregon). Had about 30 minutes before sunset, so I decided to fish for a bit (just from the bank, don't have my #fishing kayak).

Really just kinda half-assing it...

Only caught one, but it was a fat 17" smallie.. so yeah, I'll count that as a success.

Reading Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir again. I'm really looking forward to the movie next year...

If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. It is one of my fave sci-fi, but I think most readers would enjoy it. (The Audiobook is also well read/excellent)
