Rereading my personal bible (aka @naomiaklein.bsky.social's Doppleganger) as Tucker Carlson and the like turn on the trump administration over Iran, but im still trying to make it make sense. Pure grift? A strategic pull to pick some antizionists out of the progressive coalition?

@michaelhobbes.bsky.social can I request a grifter data analysis? I want a graph of Former Fox Anchors' opinions against Trump's Overall Approval Rating. At what % approval did it become profitable to dissent?

This was a beautiful interview - AND the rev opened by saying you can't prepare to be arrested. @maryharris.bsky.social your listeners deserve to know that it is essential to prepare for an arrest able action.
Reverend William Barber walks with two canes and is *still* showing up to the Capitol to pray (and getting arrested for it). Reason enough to listen to him about why: slate.com/podcasts/wha...

Info on its energy gobbling should be in every news story about AI. It is newsworthy. It is inseparable from the tech itself.
It's all fun and games until …

"Professor Gina Neff of Queen Mary University London told the BBC #ChatGPT is "burning through energy", and the data centres used to power it consume more electricity in a year than 117 countries."

If you haven’t seen the total set of NatSec party line texts that The Atlantic released after multiple Trump admin participants claimed they were not classified, here they are.

Spoiler alert: There’s HELLA classified material on this thread.

All participants should resign. 1/x

moral panics re "woke," "political correctness," etc were designed to make:

1. counter-cultural commitments to relational egalitarianism & mutual consideration seem like stodgy, censorious conformism;

2. degenerate commitments to bigotry & complacency seem like high-minded tolerance & defiance
Normalizing racism was a major goal of the “free speech absolutist” movement and they’ve been wildly successful at their work.
This probably would've been a career-defining bit of racism for any politician in a previous era

Just a reminder to anyone who feels reinvigorated by the "together we're unlimited" moment - that sliver of hope was followed by the ultimate betrayal. We will all have to face the consequences of resistance soon. Do so arm and arm with your people.

How much does a home with a backyard, a coop and run, bedding, feed, time spent maintaining the run, time spent troubleshooting weird health problems, and vet fees if you don't already know how to euthanize a chicken cost, Michael?
It’s like that gallows humor joke people sometimes told in the last years of Mobitu’s Zaire:
Daddy what did people do for light at night before there were candles?
Well, son, we had electricity.
Trump’s Sec of Agriculture Brooke Rollins says the solution to high egg prices for Americans is to get some chickens and raise them in your backyard.
