Does anyone know how to fix the stupid bug on Windows 11 that keeps changing the background on my desktop computer? Its such a stupid thing but I'd like to change it to a different graphic. I want some autonomy in this bullshit simulation, goddamnit.

One of my favorite pictures of Millie. I don’t know why she slept like that, but she got into some of the god’s awfulest contortions when she slept.

The mornings can be both cold and beautiful here in Appalachia.

The same cold dawn has been breaking over these mountains in winter since they have existed. My family has made them their home for generations, huddled down in the hollows, surviving in spite of it all, weathering the worst, waiting for yet another spring.

Taterhead has been up all of 20 minutes and is furiously pissed I did not share my breakfast honey bun with him. You have diabetes, you dumbass. We have to special order your food. You do not get the sugar pastry at any time, especially since you stole an entire slab of jerky last night at dinner.

Some awesome person sent me this NECA Vincent Price figure I've had on my wishlist for a very long time, but they didn't put their name on the package, so I don't know who to thank for it! So whoever you are, thank you so much! He will get a place of honor on my Vincent Price shelf!

This year we're doing Whamutopia. Every time you hear Last Christmas you have to have a mulled wine at your earliest convenience and toast George Michael, because he was a lad

Still having the urge to walk into the woods in the dead cold of night never to be seen again. That’s good, right?

Snuck back downstairs for pie, and fed the dogs some turkey. Millie loved turkey. Christmas was her favorite holiday, though. She loved tearing through wrapping paper for her new Christmas stuffy. But she did love a big turkey leg for thanksgiving. I miss that girl.

Broccoli casserole in the oven, and I have a floor again after 6 months. So progress has been made. Now to fold a metric shit-ton of clothes and I will call it a day on chores and do the rest some other time.

Decided to do a massive clean/rearrange on my bedroom today, so I will be sleeping in my car tonight.

My first Thanksgiving without Millie in 15 years. One of her favorite holidays, we always gave her a turkey leg. She loved laying on the rug in the kitchen and 'helped' by getting in the way every goddamn chance she could. She danced all day long, her infectious, happy smile made everything better.

I hit the point in exhaustion where I’m mixing up my words, so that means it’s time to go to bed. Got a busy day of cooking tomorrow, holiday on Thursday, and a funeral on Friday. So I better rest while I can.

Taterhead has had a rough week (nothing medical, I think he's just missing Millie really bad. Me too, little bud, me too) and he's has my sleep schedule all screwed up) so I'm pretty well on Dracula's schedule, so I guess I'm gonna go eat dinner at 2am and then find a monster movie to watch.
