No thank YOU. You totally put me on to something that wasn’t really on my radar before

Kids rarely come to these (although they are welcome), I’m trying to remind adults that wild animals exist and are cool and should be protected. I meet cool likeminded people all the time and have been getting involved with local programs I wouldn’t have discovered otherwise. Events are what’s up!

I also already host figure drawing meetups a couple of times a month, and I’m trying to get as many animals involved as possible. We had goats a couple of weeks ago, and I’m trying to plan a visit from some owls from a local raptor rescue. I’m on the lookout for reptiles as well.

I did a moth night for artists (I thought I was being sooo smart having an original idea, but then you posted about your own in Philly the same week lol). Also got involved with an existing local gardening club and seed distro that I went looking for after you posted about local pollinators.

this exists it is called thinking
Matthew McConaughey says he wants a private LLM, fed only with his books, notes, journals, and aspirations, so he can ask it questions and get answers based solely on that information, without any outside influence.

They are such big jerks in this movie and yet it’s impossible to hate them because they’re both so charming

Trans rights are not the rights of a tiny minority, trans rights are everyone’s rights to self-determination, control of our bodies, and a society where opportunity and aesthetics are not restricted by sex assigned at birth

You should support and defend trans people because trans people are people

I lost all mine from about the same age in a move and it was so devastating. That was over ten years ago and I just get sadder about it.

Important: today my cat did a 10/10 perfect loaf and followed it up with a little shrimp pose. 🍤
Lucy, a black cat with green eyes, sits in with her little feeties tucked under her like a loaf of bread, looking directly at the camera. A top down photo of the same black cat laying on her side with her head tucked and her back feet curled around her like a shrimp. She is a perfect beautiful creature. The very tip of her tail is white, like a magicians wand.

You ARE my boss though, just this once as a treat 🤣

I did the wildlife one :) you could channel your righteous anger about, you know, everything, into purchasing some nice art with important messaging. If you want. I’m not your boss.

Hi I know we're all talking about something else at this particular momennnttt, but can I interest any of you in educational posters?

I've got 'em in a pack & seasonal lightning bugs too!

It helps support SaS and makes it easy for you to spread important messages in your community!

A poster hanging on a brick wall that says Leave your leaves for lightning bugs! with lightning bugs on new purple asters . There's too-small-to-read text in a box with the heading Lightning bugs are struggling to survive, help them thrive by taking these actions. The actions are: 1) Leave your leaves. Lightning bug babies live in fallen leaves. When we send away our leaves, we kill the babies! Leave your leaves on the ground, or pile them in a corner.
2) Don't use Pesticides. Pesticides kill lightning bugs! Cut them out of your yard care routine.
3) Turn off the lights. Lightning bugs need darkness to communicate.
4) Tell your friends! Our actions become much more powerful when we take them as a community. Get your friends and family involved too. 4 12x18 inch posters on a brick and concrete wall. The top left is pink and says funding science saves lives, written in microbes, next to a microscope. The one on the right says Biology is bigger than binaries, with a fish, a lily, and a bee. The bottom left says Protecting wildlife starts wtih you, with a bunch of adiorable woodland creatues in yellow, white and black, including an owl, fungi, a... um. weasel? salamanders, butterflies, slugs, and a rotting log. The bottom right says Will our oceans thrive or nosedive the choice is yours, with the ocean represented in a circle, half of which is dead and half of which is alive, including kelp and a mackerel

As we enter fall, it's so important that we tell everyone to leave those leaves! Mads Torres designed a poster to help us.

Lightning bugs are one of the most charismatic insects we've got. Actions we take to protect them protects many insects!

Get some to hang in your neighborhood!

Oh my god, Trump actually got the NRA to come out to defend trans people owning a gun.
"Graphic from the NRA with a red border and dark blue background. White and yellow text states: 'The NRA supports the Second Amendment rights of all law abiding Americans to purchase, possess and use firearms. NRA does not, and will not, support any policy proposals that implement sweeping gun bans that arbitrarily strip law-abiding citizens of their Second Amendment rights without due process.' The NRA logo is at the bottom. The tweet caption reads: 'The Second Amendment isn’t up for debate.'"

Absolutely infuriating that the guys arming themselves against a tyrannical government are instead falling overthemselves to help the tyrannical government.

Hey so uh, dozens of countries refusing to ship anything to the US, that’s pretty bad right? Like not in a consumerism way but in a no-contact-with-the-outside-world way? At the same time he’s occupying cities? And Internet ID laws? That’s all pretty bad, right? Right?

LOVE bad movies. I read a review so blistering I had to watch it. It was even worse than I was expecting, in different ways. Mr. Cube was probably the least worst thing about it.

Haven’t seen Ghosts of Mars, but I’ll have to look for it. I think Anaconda is probably the peak of his career for me

I finally had a chance to hatewatch the Ice Cube vehicle War of the Worlds and it is hypnotically bad. Amazon product placement? Bad. Out of date references? Bad. Written when they assumed NASA would still exist and women would work there? Bad. Just terrible all around. A must watch.

We're definitely entering an era where the Internet is so hollowed out, so untrustworthy and compromised, that real world interactions, things identifiably done by human beings, will take on greater value and purpose.
