If we can’t collectively dispel our gravitation towards “One Bad Man” Theory, we will not come out of this historical moment any better than we went into it.

(this episode focuses on Netanyahu but applies heavily to most sentiments I see and hear towards Trump)
In Ep 231, "How To Oppose Genocide Without Opposing Genocide (Part 2): AIPAC Dems' Fake Israel Criticisms," we detail the buyers' market for superficial Gaza critiques that permit ambitious Democrats to look pro-Palestine without the downside of actually being so.

A few weeks ago we played "Holidays with The Hard Modes"—a set of music from snow/ice levels—at @wtjuradio.bsky.social 's Friday night live concert series, Offbeat Roadhouse.

Just listened back and am super happy with the show. Some details about the set in thread.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but this is a good indicator that it's time for salarymen to look into seizing the means.
At Sakura Kozo in Hokkaido, Japan, employees can choose a new boss from a manual detailing each one's strengths & weaknesses. E.g.: Yamada-san has "a cornucopia of field knowledge" & is "ace at Excel" but "has no interest in his workers" & "isn't used to dealing w/ women."

"The kids are alright" has always been a bourgeois way of thought—the older generation absolving themselves of the need to come to terms with the failures of liberalism and evolve beyond their old biases in their advanced age because the kids will handle things and right their wrongs or whatever.
From the right-wing Manhattan Institute's focus group of Gen Z conservatives -- just jaw-dropping stuff. We have a very sick society. www.city-journal.org/article/manh...

Some of our bourgeois statesmen will give lip service as if they care, but ultimately, they are capitalists. We, fellow prole, are not of their class.

The mask is off yet again.

Will you once more help them put it back on?

Or this time, will you snatch it and forever see them for what they are?

"Digital Goes Analog" features orchestrated (and de-orchestrated!) versions of video game music.

"312 imperialists—including 115 imperialists wearing blue—just voted to do imperialism harder."
As Trump drags us into an Iraq-style war in Venezuela, 312 members of the House — including 115 Democrats — just voted to authorize over $900 billion in military spending.

Again: the Purpose of LLM- type "AI" bullshit engines is not to tell you the truth or to lie to you, but to tell you something you are statistically determined to be more likely to accept, irrespective of facts— which makes them perfect for accelerating dis- & misinformation & persuasive propaganda…
AI dialogues shifted political support by 2 to 3 points in trials, eclipsing standard ads. Roughly one-third of this effect persisted for a month. However, models optimized for persuasion proved more factually error-prone.

AI chatbots can persuade voters to change their minds
Conversations with AI can sway people’s political views. Concerningly, a chatbot’s facts are not always accurate, especially when it supports right-wing positions.

Seeing videos, etc. using the term “wrongfully detained” when what they mean is “indiscriminately abducted.”

The difference is implication of a mistake having been made vs. the truth, which is that the acts are intentional.
