This story literally refers to war as “old habits”—the laziest trope about the Middle East, as if there’s some cultural predisposition to violence. This is the very first story on the NYT front page, and I’m disgusted.

An eerie amalgam of many of my kitchens. The tile in an old apartment, those metal canisters up until v recently (I think they were my mother-in-law's, a wedding gift). Still have orange descoware and those same clamp-top jars. Have *not* adopted Joan's hair ribbons, which look like a fire hazard.
