Deactivated my account then reactivated it. My relationship with the news is too complicated.

Right now, councils are forced to approve most betting shop applications because of outdated ‘Aim to Permit’ rules.

It’s unfair and it damages our high streets. I want this to change, but I need your help.

I really don't think we've barely begun to come to terms with how tech companies have actively decided to destroy the basic infrastructure of human information to juice their share price

case study of how a non-meaningful tweak to a prompt can result in dangerously wrong output. Search A: prompt has typos in “association” & “blood clots.” AI output has medical misinfo (Yaz&Yasmin ARE NOT drospirenone-only). Search B: same words, same order, correct spelling. Output factually correct
Prompt with typos results in answer saying Yaz and Yazmin contain an ingredient they do not Correct output because prompt spelling was correct

This looks really interesting - it's a shame the younger child is still home this week. He does not tolerate the use of internet enabled devices, unless it's to watch children's TV.

Also, there’s a conference on Vice Epistemology X Situated Affectivity with a fantastic line-up happening Sep 3-5 (and it’s hybrid), see poster or link:

Just discovered this gem - Singer of the Band by Twat Union. No I'm not a medical doctor, I'm a woman with a PhD and I actually do philosophy and no, it's not feminist philosophy.

That's worst with small children who are likely to smash the next car when they open the car door. And the wider parent / child spaces are often taken by people without children or with older, even grown up children. England is not great for accessible parking.

My children have reached the "I wonder if you can eat yoghurt with chopsticks" phase of the summer vacation. I will miss them next week when school starts again.

As long as it fits, it shouldn't be an issue. I've had more problems with tiny cars parking across multiple spaces.

Did you know if you hold
an ermine up to your ear🦻
you can hear what it’s like...

to be attacked by an ermine?🎶

True for most things in nature🎉

The northern portions of North America is home for Mustela erminea, who has a reputation as being fierce and territorial.

I now need to drive an extra 10 to 15 minutes to get my dog to the vet on time. When I could easily have moved my car instead before they dug this massive big hole.

Workmen dug a big hole in the middle of the road in front of my house this morning then disappeared. (The workmen, not the hole, alas.) They didn't ring the doorbell to let us know. Because of the weird road layout,
