Right?!

See also: famine.

Not to be dramatic, but the four horsemen do not ride alone.

Sigh. This is depressing. But seriously, safe food doesn’t just magically appear. Without a fully staffed USDA/APHIS, how would we feed this many people?

We…wouldn’t. You think grocery prices are high now?!

Okay, though it was definitely on dried curly leaves of willowherb and looks right, I'm now doubting myself about Aphis epilobii, as there are hardly any records in iRecord and no Welsh records in Aderyn. Any aphid experts out there?
November 29, 2025 at 4:19 PM
I didn't deliberately set out to find aphids today but up they popped: 1) Crypturaphis grassii, the Italian alder aphid on, you guessed it, Italian alder; 2) Aphis epilobii, Willowherb aphids on, yep, Great willowherb; 3) & 4) Eriosoma lanigerum, Woolly apple aphids, on Firethorn (Pyracantha sp.).
