#AirTable
It's been a while since I updated isitcanon.carrd.co

I'm thinking about retiring this page and move the project to another platform like Airtable, something less visually pleasant but much easier to update (and free lol)

Why did Airtable replace their beautiful jaunty color logo with this boring black thing

No sé si Airtable servirá para lo que necesitas

I think one of the hardest things for me to adjust to is the dropoff in dopamine from the sudden absence of emails, Slack messages, breaking news, assignments, phone calls, meetings, Airtable updates, and work-related events. A lot of reporters and journalists have to deal with this even during PTO.

nothing makes me feel more wretched than trying to follow a programmer’s instructions on reddit for a “simple” automation in airtable

they should all be shocked by live cattle prods

I used to regard Airtable with polite disinterest but I tried it again and now they can’t stop emailing me about AI shit so now I despise them.

Anyway my self hosted baserow instance is doing great without being overrun by the slop machine

Ah yep, had a look at Food Rescue Hero earlier this year but it looked like it was more about impact measuring? One of the orgs I work with has a simple Airtable that did almost everything their app did 😅

Kinda needing the "buying from growers" part. Thanks for the reply though!

We’re doing some technical updates to GreatPods.co and a lot was manual. Hence my absence. Database migration from Airtable to Supabase is done. Now we test it.

I was waiting for my Vercel to do the deployments,

thought it was a Vercel server issue, then AWS is like Hold my beer.

AWS is casually holding the homo sapiens civilization at gunpoint.

AWS is down. Perplexity, Snapchat, Fortnite, Airtable, Canva, Amazon, Slack, ... Half of the internet is af

kinda forgot that i started experimenting with airtable literally the same exact day unauthorizon originally went down. i wasted no time

Looked in my database of @virginiabookarts.bsky.social's type & printshop (reopening soon!) at least has enough to do a much smaller-text letterpress version (& maybe larger Bernhard Gothic Medium is a good next lasercut type project for me so I can do this poster size?)

I suspect Airtable, perhaps with an integration or two, would work.

Past Me is a real asshole. I decided to make two pairs of booties for a coworker's baby shower on Wednesday. One pair is done, and I'm almost through bootie number 3. Need to finish that and number 4, weave in the ends, get photos for my AirTable database, wrap, before bed tomorrow night. (1/2)

To keep pace with things, I give built-in AI tools a shot on occasion. Like my company works with AirTable. A little while back, they introduced a plain language building tool. " Tell us what you want and we'll build your AirTable app!"... and it SUCKS. I gave it a half hour of my time... wasted.

I do not "enjoy" using the AirTable software. I was sold on it as a combination of database and spreadsheets, but I frequently find it challenging to do with it what I can do with either (or both) of those. Perhaps I'm just getting old?

"Hello, Arnold.

We’ve updated our Airtable AI Terms to support new AI features and enhance safety and compliance. "

Ughhh, I'm so tired.
In most cases these are just tools and services I signed up but never used because they demand you are permanently online but I keep getting update emails.

oh my god why does nothing work anymore??

google updated their photos app and it's garbage that literally can't even crop a photo anymore (it crops everything slightly to one side of where you want it???)

and airtable mobile just overwrote an entire base because it mixed up two untitled bases 💀

does anyone know if there's a resource that's cataloging genAI/AI policies for different platforms and websites? for example, linkedin implementing AI training with user data. airtable has a note about not training AI with user's data/info. just wondering if i can find a central place..

TFW you can't find any software that will let you track map locations connected to structured data in a table in one interface so you have to vibe code it yourself.

Felt, Airtable, etc. were all $100+/month for the right to do this. Lol, nope.

One day of GPT-5 vibe coding and problem solved.

There's the added benefit that I can tailor this app to my specific need: tracking exorbitantly priced London houses that I'd like to bury myself in debt for.

Added some handy calculations like nearest train stations with walking time, nearby schools and their ratings. Can't do that in Airtable.

I've been using Airtable to track conference submissions. Banner year for me... out of 38 submissions so far, I've gotten... 2 acceptances.

Seriously considering just stopping - focusing on writing, video, streaming.

Even better, after a prompt, ChatGPT guided me on exactly *where* to put the code to make it work. I’ve so far generated all the content on this site via ChatGPT too (via Airtable). All of this is an experiment right now, bit could turn into a website worth publishing.
