this is an alarming statement that fails to grapple at all with the aggressive use of force by the us govt and how that alone constitutes a human rights violation. contrast this with amnesty’s statement.
After decades of repression, Venezuelans deserve a prompt transition to a rights-respecting democracy, led by Venezuelans, where their freedoms and right to participate in free and fair elections are respected.

Read HRW’s statement on US strikes on Venezuela:
US Strikes Venezuela, Says it Will ‘Run’ Country
On the night of January 2, the US military conducted strikes on Venezuela, and took into custody the country’s president, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife, Cilia Flores.

”Most genocidal experts”

Well, good luck proving that. How many of these ”experts” are there to begin with? Please enlighten us all with a number.

And have you read p. 101 in Amnesty’s report on the ”Genocide in Gaza” yet? Why did they have to write that if there really was a G in Gaza?

The bottom line from Amnesty's new report.

Florida’s “Alligator Alcatraz” is a modern gulag. Torture, disappearances, medical neglect. all documented in Amnesty’s new report. The US just had the deadliest year in ICE detention history with over 23 deaths.

Myanmar Junta Amnesty's are absolute bullshit propaganda. Release a load of prisoners for the camera's & the media & once the headlines are out... Rearrest them. This cycle has been the case every fucking time.

Story also tells of the rampant disinformation campaigns against activists.
Posts on pro-junta propaganda Telegram channels claimed Poe Piti Khaing, a secretary of the Hpa-An Sudent Union, had photographed an anti-regime protest in Mandalay after her recent release

Maybe @amnestyuk.bsky.social should have actually fucking stood up for trans people then.

There isn't a single pro trans campaign on their website, and their customer service rep told me trans rights weren't Amnesty's remit.

Just curious, but has anyone asked Siddiq how she feels about Amnesty's reports of her aunt's mass slaughter? 870 protestors killed over two months, with over 100 on one day. Guardian reporting state troops firing shotguns and automatic weapons into unarmed crowds.

Any response, Tulip?
