The #Cerambycidae were one of the groups that caught my eye early but ive realized im missing a few of the most common ones in my area.

Now, fingrs crossed, hope the pins fit back in the box because last years additions might have been a few more than i planned on...

Locust borers (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Megacyllene robiniae) are common in eastern North America. Adults feed on pollen from flowers like goldenrods (Asteraceae: Solidago spp.), but larvae feed on the wood of black locust trees (Fabaceae: Robinia pseudoacacia). Palmyra Michigan, 25 Sep 2013.

Cool, I have never heard these beetles stridulate, but I am very familiar with the stridulation of the very common and squeaky Monochamus (and other Cerambycidae) beetles here in South Georgia!

Happy 21. #HexapoDezember Ihr Trivialname trifft es ganz gut: Bockkäfer. Der wissenschaftliche Name #Cerambycidae geht auf den Schäfer Cerambos aus der griechischen Mythologie zurück, den Nymphen nach einem Streit in einen großen Käfer mit Hörnern verwandelt haben. Ich hoffe ja ihr habt Bockkäfer💓✨🐐

One of the more ridiculous antennae to body length ratios among Longhorn #Beetles is found in Hippopsis lemniscata, ANTENNAE FOR DAYS 😂
