It seems like we have lots of new users. Welcome! I post mostly #photography, and most of that is #Macro of buggies/ #spiders/ #nature, but also #cats, #skies, and random things. Other things get posted too, science, #art, #games, #random thoughts and occasional #silliness.

This is a tortoise beetle, beautifully iridescent, about the size of my fingernail.

It's WAAAAY too early in the year to be seeing Carolina #Anoles that are missing body parts!

Tho tbh, this appears to be a healed-over wound from last autumn. It can be a rough life out there for Smol Hungry Lizards! 🦎

A juvenile Carolina Anole in it's brightest green coloration, on a light wooden deck board. It's toes are all splayed, with the pads on front feet giving it a gecko look. A slightly zig-zag light pattern runs dorsally from the back of it's skull to the point on its tail that is stubby - about half of the tail is missing, and scarred over in black. As the lizards are out in the sun before insect hatching - you can see poor lizards ribs - not much to eat for the next month or so!

I got bored, this can at times be dangerous, but this time all that resulted was that I made a #fidget device. 2 binder clips kissing, surrounded by a titanium key ring. 3 modes of fidget, flipping the "handles", spinning the ring, or disconnecting the clips.
