23 - I had no idea what to do but knew I couldn't keep working as an NHS admin. Got a job working weekends with autistic children in a daycentre to see if I liked it. Stayed for 8 years, did some qualifications, worked my way up. Then head of a residential school, then between daycare/care homes.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

Seeing teens at my daycentre who also massively hate Ai/chatgpt gives me some hope for humanity, not a lot, but some

It is a beautiful documentary and there was an emotional Q&A with some of the amazing staff, many of who had not seen each other for decades until the filming was done.

Thank you for sharing the lore! And I am so glad you can do daycentre. I work in libraries and they’re often amazing in that regard. If you meant civic libraries, don’t rule out university/college libraries as well if there’s one nearby. They have their own vibe for quiet focus that’s great

I like it at my daycentre but I still feel like something is missing, most of the others there are tech bros and yeah I dont really have alot in common with them

Me and my "coach" (idk the right word for her) are looking at a daycentre at a library or bookstore near me for in the future

I only go for a few hours a week and that already exhausts me to the point I cant do anything at home (I have been tested for numerous things, but im perfectly healthy)
This made me and my family, and luckily also the people at my daycentre realise that I won't be able to work and we should try

There’s a dolls’ hospital in Dublin
Where shellshocked Actionmen rest
And dollies wait for limb transpops.
It’s where ragdolls come to get stitches
And bears undergo kiddie dialysis.
Barbie is believed to have botox
Privately in the outpatients daycentre,
But Ken won’t say. His lips are sealed.

I was house husbanding, she had PND our children were two and four.
She thought I was neglecting their education.
Then after the divorce the childcare/daycentre saw the signs of autism in my son.
Juvenile arthritis in my daughter.

She's never said sorry I remarried a year later.

In fairness, Bailey is a complete joke, and he'll fit more easily into the Daycentre for Retired Gentlefolk and Church of England bishops who love a bit of flogging of their fags...
