#Didjits
"… few bands have embodied that ideal as well as the three-piece rock ‘n’ roll outfit known as The Didjits, a truly 'riff-fueled,' hot-blooded, machine-tooled band of pile-driving power … [and] they are back in the mix, ready to stir shit up again."

Yesterday I spent all day at the Pittsburgh Art Book Fair, flew home directly from the fair, got in late, got on a train, walked home, dumped my luggage, kissed my wife and dog, and then raced to the Empty Bottle and saw The Didjits and some of The Crosses' set. I'm wrecked but it was awesome.

In an interview in the late 90s, Rick Sims of Didjits says the cover of Killboy Powerhead bought him a house.

A testament to Corey and Lisa Rusk’s ethos and integrity as well.
If you want a weird but true fact to talk about:

Dexter Holland, lead singer of The Offspring, was instrumental in this. His doctorial thesis in molecular biology was sequencing mRNA in HIV. The paper was also heavily cited in creating the COVID-19 vaccine.
It feels like we should be making a bigger deal of “we actually did in fact find a cure for AIDS”

Been relistening to a lot of Didjits. Was astonished to find this on youtube: Didjits at the Troc in Philly, April 92. I was at this show & was introduced to Didjits (they were opening for Alice Donut at the time.) A brilliant find.

I don’t begrudge the offspring, I like Agent Orange a lot, too.

They bought houses for all the members of Didjits, fired the drummer for antivax lunacy, pretty solid.

One less repeat per day of any song by Nirvana, FF, or RHCP?

I'm saying. And Didjits without Doug.

Bogarts indeed! Saw so many shows at Shorty’s and Sudsy’s (RIP). Look at what you could feast on in one month of 1990!

I looked pretty closely and there are defintely items with Steve connections I'd love to buy from @byroncoley.bsky.social (the Didjits LPs, or that Danielson Famile LP!)...Burzum is NOT that. I sold mine long ago. I'm super excited about the shirts, posters, and more unique/ephemeral items, though!

Damn Riot Fest dragging me back in with Weird Al and the Didjits. Also extremely curious about the Hanson and Beach Boys sets.

For some reason my old brain said this was one of your posters, which it isn’t. But it’s cool anyway:

You were hot!

I was not.

And that Muffs/Didjits show was our peak.
I was in a band named KING TRASH.
We wore sexy dresses and fishnets and I was hot! We weren't amazing or anything, but a couple of our shows came off nicely.
Biggest deal (to me) was opening for THE MUFFS and THE DIDJITS.
You know sucks shit? SMASHING PUMPKINS.
Fuck them.

This CD has a cover of the Didjits' "Killboy Powerhead" from their excellent 1990 LP Hornet Pinata. Didjit Rick Sims wrote the song and made enough in royalties to buy a house in Chicago. Also, my wretched first band opened for them in 1991 and it was a mortifying disaster (for us, not them).
