Tomorrow I will be trying to cut the new Sins of David Ginola (Murray Royston-Ward & I) 5" lathe cuts. It is a bit of Peter Blasser-based one, with searing oscillators phasing and sparking on one side, and the other side's oscillators wobble, clip their own heels, & lumber down a blind alley.

I thought Terry Yorath was David Ginola earlier.

Kondogbia qui, déja, nous a fait une Ginola en envoyant Aubam en profondeur alors qu'on pouvait attendre tranquillement la fin du match en marchant s'il avait ouvert à droite!

David Ginola, a talisman.

HA hahahahahahahaha!

Spursy thoughts, along with thinking Ledley King was a legend, or that Aaron Lennon was better than Theo Walcott.
There were lots of people absolute scathing in the 90s - Arsenal going on to do what they did under Wenger really hurt which is why I think 2026 also feels really shit.
I do think we desperately need a Ginola-esque talismanic character. Kudus is probably the most 'mercurial' talent we have.

The general trend across the 90s however was a steady decline in relevance as a major club and successful team. There was great ambition (underpinned by crippling debt) as we entered the 90s. By 2000 we were just so 'meh' bar Ginola. Watch back any of the Sky Sports Years - we hardly feature.

Throwback to 2010, When Ginola was blown up for a carbon emissions reduction campaign advert that was quickly withdrawn due to controversy.

No he couldn’t save Tottenham’s kits.

He didn’t have that much sauce.
And Ginola was saucy.

I appreciate a good kit and the 1995 & 1996 kits were outstanding for Newcastle.

Especially with Ginola in them.
Newcastle bring back '90s vibes with heritage collection
Newcastle United and Adidas have launched an apparel collection inspired by 1995-96, and it's a beauty.

An embodiment of the Keegan era. Could run all day (and needed to, with Ginola in front of him!)

David Ginola wore the away kit back in 1995. Shaun Botterill/Allsport Newcastle United have rolled back the clock to the mid-1990s with the release of a limited-edition collection of apparel inspired by the attire worn by the club during the 1995-96 season. The nostalgia-heavy Newcastle United '95 Collection features a variety of era-appropriate apparel, but the star of the show is definitely the faithful reproduction of the Toon's cult classic 1995-96 Adidas away shirt, which is still beloved by fans to this day.

Yes Newcastle! Sir Les. Ginola. Re-release all their 90s adidas gear and they'll never face PSR issues again.
January 6, 2026 at 12:58 PM
Ha.. i think even in our crap late 90s periods we had one or two heros in the team, and there was always a spark of attacking style. Sheri, Anderton Ginola etc.
January 6, 2026 at 11:24 AM
1 of the differences is even then, and we were terrible, there was a player that ould still ift the whole place in a moment, Ginola, Klinsmann. This current squad has nobody "yeah but at least we've got" in it at all

I've stopped moaning about Spurs because I've stopped watching Spurs.

We're fucking shit.

There's genuinely no excuse for this.

I don't think we've been this bad since before Martin Jol. Even when we were awful in the 90s, at least we were trying to do goals and give it to Ginola et al.

Walked past David Ginola as he was getting out of a car in Pimlico. Couldn’t be arsed to ask for a pic.

Whenever I think of Brigitte Bardot, I recall David 'Loon' English reciting the story of his dalliance with her to David Ginola a few years later

"Est ce arrivé sur le plage?"

"Non, Davidé. Sur le dustbins!"

1999…

This was my first Spurs Boxing Day game and it was worth the wait with Ginola in majestic form for this 4-0 mauling of Watford.

They tend to be pretty lenient when it comes to one offs though. Vince Cable spent decades ballroom dancing when he appeared, David Ginola had done the French version and last year Vogue Williams had done the Australian version.
