#Goeduck
The goeduck with a hard hat is goated.
King tides + heavy rains = roadway flooding in coastal areas. @nws.noaa.gov is telling us to expect heavy rains coupled with king tides on the coast Wednesday and Thursday.

The Goeduck is the mascot of our local college

You can’t just show a picture of a goeduck, you have to show a picture of someone holding it for context - and ALT TEXT is important

Goeduck makes a great chowder but is even served raw as sushi

Everybody loves the Goeduck! Cougs, Vikings, Wildcats, Eagles all solid mascots too! There’s only one lame one 😏

Apparently it used to be written as "gooey duck" which turned to goeduck but it accidentally got switched around and stuck because people just assumed geo-duck was more correct

Spoiler: These were delicious. The goeduck with spring onion and sumiso was fantastic. That taste of the sea competed well the the tangy sumiso.

The albacore tartar needed a little more work. Something crunch. So she added a satsuma imo chip that set things right.
One of my jobs as a husband is to taste test my wife Miyuki's new recipes for the restaurant. Ah, the things you do for love...

Lutshootsheed gʷídəq, I think it was originally goeduck but people flinched at that spelling

Probably it was originally spelled goeduck, but someone eventually spelled it geoduck on accident and it caught on, especially as geo- is a real prefix in English

I wish to go back in time and personally castrate the assholes who decided it's spelled this way.
Literally pick any other spelling.
Gwidek. Gooyduk. Gweeduk. Goeduck.

Every moment we decide to keep the spelling like this proves that English has no value as a language.

3/ The pronunciation of geoduck may surprise you: It's gooey-duck /ɡuːidʌk/. The English word is borrowed from Lushootseed gʷidəq. The odd spelling with “geo” probably results from rearranging the letters of an older spelling goeduck into an order that looks more natural to English orthography.
