I wish you could too! I live in Calgary, AB, but I've been in Groton, CT since Sept taking care of my dad. He's been in US since 1970 (I went back to Canada in '84,) and I've got to get him out ASAP!

#OTD in 1954, USS Nautilus (SSN-571) was christened and launched at Groton, CT. Fueled by a golf ball-sized lump of uranium, the world's first nuclear-powered submarine could stay submerged longer while traveling further, faster and deeper than any sub before her.

I used to drive from Groton CT to West Warwick RI to watch movies bcz I liked their theater better and there was a TGI Fridays right next to it; that’s a 45-minute drive if you take 95, but like an hour and a quarter if you took the backroads like I did

A few towns in CT have their own electric utilities (distribution): Groton, Norwich, Norwalk, Wallingford, and Bozrah &Jewett City. They invariably do better in terms of power outages, and typically have lower rates too
