‘Domestic Duty’: The 35-Year Quest to Bring Light to Bach’s Lost Works | JS Bach
🚀 Check out this trending post from Culture | The Guardian 📖 📂 Category: JS Bach,Classical music,Music,Culture,Germany,Europe,World news ✅ Key idea: TThe best fictional detectives are famous for their intuition, their ability to spot some seemingly indescribable contradiction. Peter Wolney, the musicologist behind last week's "globally sensational" unveiling of two little-known works by Johann Sebastian Bach, had a funny feeling when he came across two interesting pieces of music in a dusty bookshop in 1992.

Mit 60+ habe ich gelernt, meiner inneren Stimme zu vertrauen.
Sie führt mich klarer als jeder äußere Rat.
Es ist, als wäre ein neuer Frühling in mir entstanden. 🌿

Being direct: intuition here is that the Canadian funding bodies are much less ambitious than their American or British (and maybe even Australian?) counterparts in the Anglophone world and France + Germany.

This includes the geosciences.

"The percentage of people so inclined is higher in Germany than in other countries. It was the willingness of a noticeable proportion of the Germans to rate rhetoric above research and intuition above knowledge, that brought [the Nazis] to power.’Willy Ley (1947

I have been questioning Germany when people kept claiming they have changed and this finally proved my intuition was right

Intuition in Germany: Why It's Still a Brave Thing to Discuss ✨

Intuition is universal—it's not something rare or reserved for the “gifted.” 🌌 Yet in many places, including Germany, openly talking about it still takes courage. .

I really shouldn't jump into this now since I'm about to go to bed (it's almost 3 here in Germany), but to expand on this, one of my numerous problems with the CR is that as Dennett famously put it, it maybe pumps this intuition too much.

Like okay, it illustrates the difference between...

I've been thinking about this Milgram quote a lot lately. It's from an interview he did with 60 Minutes.

Right? My dad was always away on business trips. Instead of just weekly, they were sometimes weeks and months on end in Germany, Italy and Saudi Arabia. He’d dash off postcards and call us briefly Sunday afternoons. Don’t get me started on how we’d take road trips based on Esso maps and intuition.

Intuition meets physics:

E = S × (Smax)²

a metaphysical extension of Einstein’s energy paradigm.

I invite the #scientificcommunity to explore, examine, and potentially verify this idea across disciplines.

New study on crow intelligence!

"It's the first time a species other than humans has been shown to have this kind of geometric intuition, says Andreas Nieder, a cognitive neurobiologist at the University of Tübingen in Germany."

A crow's math skills include geometry
Crows in a lab were able to distinguish shapes that exhibited right angles, parallel lines, and symmetry, suggesting that, like humans, they have a special ability to perceive geometric regularity.

I'm afraid like I really don't follow your implication here.

I'm not an expert on the German reunification, but my intuition here is just to say a lot of wealthy industrialists made a lot of money exploiting Eastern Germans after the development boom had already ended for Germany.

That’s not a ‘knack’. That’s a strategy. It was used by an Austrian who took over Germany and sent Europe and the world into the abyss.
A ‘knack’ assumes some sort of skill or intuition. Lying is neither.

I loved that they picked a true Ice Wine from Germany but that’s not a sustainable choice. $50/btl ! My intuition was to pick highly aromatic wines like Gewertztraimer or NZ Sauvignon blanc. I then switched to fortified wines like Rivesault..A fortified French wine..

I'm prolly not the targeted reader, I don't have a good intuition about the magnitude of milk raw dogging in the US, here in Germany I'd intuitively put it in the permillian. And then reading "(n of illness) == small THUS safe", in a potentially quite small population (where relatively it might...
