Discouraging conservatives from voting is good, yes.
emrosedeleon.bsky.social
I am Latina, I know what I'm talking about here.

We lost because of bad people who need to be dissuaded from voting in the future.

People who voted for Trump II knew what they were voting for, they just thought the damage would be limited to people like me.

Fuck them.
emrosedeleon.bsky.social
Nonvoters are not secret communists, I wish it were true but it isn't.
emrosedeleon.bsky.social
The only language conservatives speak in is individual comfort.

Attacking their pride and their sense of status is part of getting them to associate personal pain with the Republican Party.
emrosedeleon.bsky.social
Arizona, Kansas, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Alaska - they all flipped right after visible Republican fuckups made their own voters feel scorned and ripped off.

Conservatives dominate politics until they don't.

It's just a matter of hammering their failures.

I mean I don't want her to be the Speaker or something either, lmao

unreality field started with Bush stealing the election just everything allowed to be structured around abuse for the sake of elite cohesion

Swing voters flirting with fascism because they thought it would make them rich?

Yeah, I think feeling like rubes will make them recoil in horror.
emrosedeleon.bsky.social
It is pointing out how Trump's policy, how Republican policy is predicted upon hurting the people they can hurt and vindictively stalling out growth, because they're afraid of other people's prosperity.

The reality of that is the only thing that can drive these people away from politics.
emrosedeleon.bsky.social
A big part of why we lost in 2024 is conservative swing voters thought they could get away with hurting everybody else, and they could profit from climbing all over our corpses.

Those people specifically, I want Trump to repeatedly hurt them and damage their finances until they're scared of voting.
emrosedeleon.bsky.social
I'm glad the Democrats have managed to protect healthcare funding, because I don't want people to die - but I am also glad it took a shutdown, I think it should be highlighted for these people that the Republicans want to kill them, and the Democrats have been keeping them alive.
emrosedeleon.bsky.social
I don't think it is reveling to say that "this is the Republican platform, this is what Republicans in your life voted for."

As a person who grew up as a trans girl in a red State, ruled over by Nazis.

I think voters should be forced to confront the reality of this policy.
emrosedeleon.bsky.social
Actually people don't really care so much about the trans issue, per se, not enough to flip votes one way or the other. Political sexists and queers are already perfectly sorted into the two parties.

The only thing there was a perception of prioritizing trans people over inflation, that hurt us.

Absolute vs proportional populations absolutely wrecking people in their predictions about nonvoters.
emrosedeleon.bsky.social
I can respect that a greater proportion of Black voters in the South may be structurally abused into nonvoting than whites, but there are unfortunately going to be a greater absolute number of racist whites who don't bother to vote. Because of math. There are more white people in absolute terms.
emrosedeleon.bsky.social
If the argument were about ending felon disenfranchisement, I think that could flip Florida - if it were about enrolling more Indigenous people, that could flip Alaska - but gerrymandering is really only meaningful for state elections in a handful of close places.
emrosedeleon.bsky.social
Places that implement compulsory voting tend to see that nonvoters are just major party leaners, they tend to proportionally sort into the available options rather than dramatically remake the electorate.

The only thing that could is mass enfranchisement of the previously disenfranchised.
emrosedeleon.bsky.social
You have no reason to believe all these people, 60% of registered voters, are all frustrated progressives who can be swayed by a bold message.

If that was true in WV at least, Paula Jean-Swearengen would have won more than 30% in 2018.

they believe “criminal” is a kind of person you are, not a status contingent upon actions you take. J6 rioters going to jail was not an outrage because there are no laws they could break that would make them criminals, whilst innocence or guilt have no bearing on if others are criminals or not

American conservatism is the latter currently, state violence is good right now because it is a means of preserving stability or any other goal, but because it is violence by the powerful, which makes it good.

sorta feel like the core central division in conservatism is "hierarchy is inevitable, so it must be made just and virtuous" and "hierarchy is inevitable, so all it does is just and virtuous"
bluespacecanary.bsky.social
It's tempting to treat "the American right is a death cult" as rhetorical hyperbole, but when you look at e.g. their enthusiasm for executing people who are *clearly* innocent, no actually these people really do just worship and revel in death and murder
