Hello. In the past week my family and I took on the challenge of leaving our home in Texas to find sanctuary in a new home in upstate NY. Yes it’s cold but politically there’s more protections for us. During our trip we faced several mental snd physical challenges that set us back by several days. Each day costing us both time and money from resources, motel stags, rental fees. Ect. Our car also broke down 3 times until we had to abandon it…even after throwing 1300 in attempt to keep on going but it didnt make it. We’ve been constantly on the road, tired, hungry, missing our medications. At one point we were hurdled with our dogs on a floor trying to stay warm, panicking to scrap money together in hope of getting to our destination. But besides from financial challenges we’ve had problems just getting access to help such as rental cars due to our identification of transitioning between homes, low credit scores, and lack of required financial gatekeepings that make it impossible for stranded folks to have no easy solutions even though its obvious we are in needs and can provide financial assurance but not enough in the eyes of corporations. We’re still not all together, not fully across the finishing line, and we have challenges to have to deal with which will most likely escalate in severity as we put it on the back burner. I myself have made it this far only through the help of strangers and friends, otherwise I could see us easily quitting many times over the last few days and just shutting down. I’ve also being the only solid financial staple of the house has missed over a week of work. Finances are strained, soul is drained. I know this alot to read and many of you have already throws in your generosity and heart. If you can even just share it’ll keep our spirits high enough to just limp through. Anything you can spare will go towards our groceries, getting our car towed and rideshares to run errands as we get settled with no mode of transportation. We also have debt resulting from this trip. Borrowed money, fees, and compensating for the income that will be affected by the missed unpaid work days, especially for a famili that survives paycheck by paycheck.

3 years prior and gotten greenlit (by mostly male execs even though it was a game for women and LGBQTIA+), assembled a team and had been pouring so much of myself into the project. It left a huge vacuum and to watch it get shelved without realizing it's potentially was gut wrenching.
