´Tain j’ai eu TK dans la tête tout le week-end pour je ne sais quelle raison, mais apparemment je n’avais jamais vu cette pochette (résultat j’ai été lent comme une chanson de Labradford - mais sans le plaisir)

On @channel3000.com ~ One of the best stories about Michael Jordan in "The Last Dance" is the LaBradford Smith motivation he conjured up out of thin air. Maybe that's what #Packers star Micah Parsons' I-tell-ya-I-get-no-respect soliloquy was this week.

No respect? Packers star pass rusher Micah Parsons aims for strong finish amid belief — real or imagined — that he’s being disrespected

I'll take note of Loscil. Someone (you?) recommended Labradford in one of the threads and I listened to FIXED:CONTEXT already.

My only complaint is that after 16 min, 2 min of buzz at the end of "Twenty" was unwelcome!

But I quite liked it. I put in on my "Discs to Nominate" list for the Tourney.

My other recommendations from the List in this vein would be Labradford, Fixed::Context, and Loscil, Triple Point. Although that's a very early Loscil album and I think his mid/late 2000's work is his best.

Introduce yourself with five concerts you’ve seen:

Pink Floyd (The Vet, Philly, 1994)

Covenant (Heaven & Hell, Wash D.C., 1997)

Labradford / Panasonic / Durutti Column / Bill Nelson (QEH, London, 1998)

VNV Nation / Haujobb (The Palace, Los Angeles, 2002)

Throbbing Gristle (London Astoria, 2004)

Possibly even funnier is that she dated a member of Labradford briefly (which is music only loser nerds like me know about)

Richmond is a small place I guess

Thanks! I can tell that I am going to be out of step with the general voting group here, as half of what I loved isn't even on here yet.
And my favourites are either Ambient (Labradford, Loscil), really quite odd (Rufus W, Roots Manuva) or Mogwai.

btw the Labradford and Root Manuva are FANTASTIC

#NowPlaying: Thomas Köner, "Permafrost" (Barooni, 1993)

Very happy to find this CD just now, which I'd thought I'd lost or sold (!). Recommended if you like Labradford, Stars of the Lid, etc.

#NowPlaying: Labradford "Prazision LP" CD (kranky, 1996 reissue)

Still a tough call whether this or the Dadamah comp is my all-time favorite kranky release, among so many great albums.

I keep thinking about Labradford while listening to the above. Labradford was an influence on my listening pretty early on so high praise via me! :)

Next, also early 2001, the last from Labradford. I’ve enjoyed most of the Pan American outings, but none as much as this beautiful and cinematic (and all to brief) finale from a band I miss badly.
