For me it’s this. The electorate of 2016 & 2024 (and almost 2020) was a lock and he was the key. Doesn’t mean some other key would have worked better. Doesn’t mean he would have overperformed in 1996 or something.
It’s the “uniquely right for his time period” thing that gets me. He’s not possessed of some singular genius, it’s more that his existence happened to align all of the ugliest forces on the right and along with structural forces this was enough to sneak barely into power.

The previous disphits also ditched my key fob AirTag about 200 feet from the house so that has prints, too.

I live in an apartment building so my mailbox has a lock and a key. The postal carrier has a master key that lets him basically open the whole wall at once so he's not unlocking box by box. One time I REALLY needed to fish something out while he was working
