Fahrenheit 451: A Cautionary Tale on Book Banning Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2 PM With the current rise in book banning in America, Ray Bradbury's novel is more timely than ever. Francois Truffaut's 1966 film, based on FAHRENHEIT 451, is an unconventional science fiction movie because Truffaut stresses the importance of books and language. Artist Cliff Tisdell will utilize images and clips from Truffaut's film, as well as historical information on Bradbury's book, to talk about book banning in America. This is a live presentation with Zoom option. After taking the photo of it below, I crumbled up the scraps of newsprint, put them in the toilet, and pissed on them.

This is remarkable. A Carnival artifact in okay condition, fetching over $9,000 at auction. It shows that #OurCarnivalHeritage has real-world value; that people from around the world are actively collecting and investing in our culture. That's a good reason to be a little happier today!

It'll depend on the humidity of where you live but generally I make sure they are clean, dry and I use newsprint sheets between them to stop them sticking together.

Or has anyone mailed folded letterpress-printed newsprint in a standard nonrigid envelope? Am wondering if having layers of ink would create bleedthrough if envelope is under pressure of other mail

Does anyone have experience with paper kinds/sizes that work well when folded twice & mailed in a paper envelope? Most of what I've been letterpress printing on doesn't fold well, but I think that could let me do some "donate to antifacist+antiracist causes/get mailed art" fundraisers easier.

I got the most recent Jack Kirby Artist’s Edition this year and was blown away by the detail Kirby and Sinnott put into their original artwork, detail that was often, as you note, too delicate to be reproduced clearly on newsprint. I guess Sinnott just took that much pride in what he did.
