Harbor seals are the cutest of the pinnipeds for sure. Here is Momma seal and the pups were having fun sliding down the rocks when the waves came in.

Wild Wisdom: Western Bluebirds are socially monogamous but occasionally have helpers at the nest, typically adult sons who assist with feeding. (Cornell Lab of Ornithology) Belted Kingfisher (Megaceryle alcyon) observed at Channel Islands Harbor, CA on January 27, 2026, at 1:24 PM PST. Wild Wisdom: Belted Kingfishers are expert excavators, using their bills and fused toes to dig nesting tunnels several feet deep into dirt banks. Wild Wisdom: California Sea Lions are among the few pinnipeds that can ‘walk’ on land, rotating their rear flippers forward to gallop across docks and even keep pace with a running human.
