One of the men skating tonight used Rachmaninov’s 2nd as his music track. My late husband love this piece & after our first meeting he left the LP of it in my offices’ reception & a single red rose. So that’s why the Brief Encounter theme makes me cry.

Wonderful concert with the Philharmonia London & Alena Baeva playing Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 2, Stravinsky's Divertimento from The Fairy Kiss & Rachmaninov's Symphonic Dances. The cheap seats in the choir behind the orchestra are the best - you can watch the musicians & the conductor closely

Is this the most beautiful melody ever written? 👀🎹

Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2, rehearsed here by pianist Boris Giltburg and conductor Lawrence Foster, is one of those pieces that stops time.

If this moves you…wait until Sunday’s performance of Symphonic Dances! 🎶✨

My mom had this reissue of Brahms Symphonies 1-4, Antal Dorati, Minnesota Orchestra (recordings from the '50s and '60s) but only #2 (1958) is on Apple Music.

A very nice recording, highly recommended.

Ok so I guess it’s Krystian Zimmerman and there’s an orchestra involved. It’s Rachmaninov’s 1 st piano concerto. Still loving the editing and timing though 🥹

Classic FM really rolling out the festive hits this afternoon to get us in a Christmassy mood; right now it’s the 2nd movement of Rachmaninov’s piano concerto no. 2. What’s next? Mahler’s 5th? Dido’s lament?
THANK YOU I AM FEELING SO CHEERY.
