Another whisper of old Slavic writing is the "ros’sky" letters, found being used by St. Cyril (he who gave his name to Cyrillic) during his mission to convert the Khazars. This word "ros’sky" has been argued to refer to a lost early script of the Rus, but is more plausibly a corruption of Syriac.
