Hegseth sucks. The Qataris suck. But we aren’t giving Qatar an airbase in Idaho. It’s building dorms etc. at an existing base to train them on F-15s we sold them, just like Singapore already has there. Common arrangement we have with lots of countries. This one was already being planned under Biden.

As a Catholic, if I'm understanding you correct (and I could be misunderstanding here), I think you are wrong here. The little c specifically means universal church, which is also how it was taught as part of my Catholic school education.

Agree that trad caths don't view it that way though.

Some part of my brain cannot reconcile Bush era Republicans and Modern Republicans. In the Bush era, the idea of allowing a foreign military facility on US soil would have gotten you beat up. Just incomprehensible to me.
